    Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays of whatever flavor you choose.  I'll likely take a break until New Year's time and will return with a blog entry then.  Peace, love and all that happiness stuff to everyone out there!

...and remember, Fight the (not) Right!

Why Fight the Right (Religious that is)

I've been blogging infrequently, but paying attention to the news. Holiday craziness getting the best of me and seems we've had an endless string of parties and visitors. Good fun, but not much time :) Somebody asked me the other day why I care about religion. I'm not anti-Christian or anti-anything for that matter. I do care about the constitution and about people respecting my right to practice my religion without theirs interfering with my life.

Well, the Religious Right is wrong. Seriously, though, I'm providing links to my reasons below. These kinds of things cause my blood to boil, especially as a Unitarian and an atheist. What I've noticed over the last 2 years is that these topics and the assumption that everyone is a Christian has crept into the workplace more than it used to. People discuss their religion within earshot of me while at work, assuming that it's just fine and dandy by everyone listening that they talk about "being saved" or their church being "filled with god", even going so far as to ask me if I've "found god" (I try to make the answer to that one funny). Well, I'm here and I'm vocal and I say it's not ok. Religion needs to stay in the church and out of work and public places. Period.

We are in a new era where evangelical right-wingers have infiltrated the presidency, judicial appointees and try to inflict their ideas of censorship and morality on the American population. We live in a conflicted country with varied ideas. But we need to respect the right of everyone to practice religion (or not) as they see fit. Legislating biblical practices (while simultaneously ignoring what they don't like to confront in the Bible), cannot work. Look at Iran and see if you want religion to dictate your life and hold out the president as a puppet government. 'Nuff said.

The Anti-Christ Does Not Believe in Birth Control

This Bush appointee astounds me.  Did I wake up last month and find myself in mid-15th century Europe?  Or am I still in 21st century USA?  Bush appoints Keroack as chief of - get this - family planning.  This man actively fights to undermine birth control.  No, I didn't say 'abortion,' I said 'birth control.'  Eric Keroack believes birth control to be demeaning to women.

    See this article:

We now see what the Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertsons of the world are hoping to accomplish.  Mostly, it would seem, that we should allow god to determine when we have children and that sex is primarily for pro-creation.  Again, I find myself in the dark ages.  The antichrist wants to infiltrate the American government, undermine the constitution and keep women in the home, barefoot and pregnant.

If, like me, you oppose the antichrist and would like to live in the 21st century, educate yourself about birth control and how important it is, then sign this petition:  .

These Christian "crisis centers" that masquerade as family planning clinics are what demeans women.  Support choices and support education.  The Christian right would like to un-educate America, manipulating women and keeping them in the dark.

Is manipulation a virtue proposed by the Christian Bible?  Check out "A Woman's Concern" to see how 'family planning' is twisted into a Christian agenda:

    I've Seen the Antichrist

Ok, I'm back after a couple weeks and some crazy holiday stuff (yes, I said 'holiday,' not 'xmas'...I mean, 'Christ'mas).

I found this infinitely funny and just:  http://blog.au.org/2006/12/falwells_flub_j.html

I now know the face of the antichrist responsible for making sure our school children can ready pagan literature that is school sponsored.  Damn those pagan Unitarians :)

In fact, the Christian right is hiding several 'antichrists' within its midst.  These imposters want you to think they are peace-loving men (and occasionally women, but don't get your hopes up) of god.  The so-called "religion of peace" has been co-opted, folks.  Let's call it what it is - the "religion of hate and short-sightedness."

Yes, these people are the antichrist.  They want a return to 16th century reproductive thought.  They would prefer that a Christian Nation (the USA) dictate how people think and behave.  They disregard the constitution and the right of separation of church and state.

See what they are all about, their names and their pictures:  http://www.defconamerica.org/meet-the-religious-right/

1 John 2:18:  Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.
